A Step in the right direction…

I purchased a good sturdy pedometer today and really want to increase my “daily steps” and use this tool to see tangible results. Something about being accountable works better for me..I can fool myself about a lot, but have learned that the numbers really don’t lie so if I do my steps everyday and weigh myself every week and count my daily “points” I think I am setting myself up for success….now finding the motivation everyday, well that’s another story but I’m sure gonna try!

Thought you might be interested in this free site, www.americaonthemove.org It is a pretty neat site for walkers; you pick a “trail” and enter your steps each day and watch as your marker progresses up the trail. Before you know it you have walked the Appalachain trail or Louis and Clark, etc, It’s neat to see how far you’ve gone instead of just seeing the numbers.

Getting a pedometer is a really good thing! I don’t have one right now,but I really want to get one soon. They say to try for 10,000 steps a day. Don’t get down on yourself if you don’t get that number everyday though, but it may be motivating for you to keep getting higher numbers. Keep up the great job, coming on here regularly will help keep you accountable to yourself. Keep it up girl! You’re doing great!
